About Koh Phangan
Koh
Phangan is now considered to be one of Thailand’s up and
coming tourist destinations, as stated in a recent
article published by ‘Thailand Property Report’. With
it’s pristine beaches, crystal clear waters and stunning
scenery. Koh Phangan is one of the only Thai Islands in
that can still offers such a natural beauty.
Located in the gulf of Thailand and just 30 minutes away
from Koh Samui international airport, on one of the
regular high speed catamarans that service the island.
from Koh Samui. The recent expansion of Koh Samui
international airport has dramatically increased the
capacity for daily flight services to the region.
There are now hourly flights from Bangkok and a number
of direct flights from Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala
Lumpur. The island as a whole is going through an
identity change, with most of the islands resorts
upgrading their accommodation and facilities to cater
for the young professional and family tourist market.
While new boutique style hotels and resorts are
springing up or at the planning stage.
This
is all having a positive knock on effect with local
amenities and leisure facilities being offered on the
island, which are changing to accommodate more
sophisticated tastes, demanded by both tourist and
locals.
With these changes to the island, the property
market has now woken up to its potential & strong growth
has been seen in the recent years and forecast for the
future. Land and property prices are rising at a rate of
>20% year on year on quality land plots and
developments.
You only have to look at Koh Phangan’s
sister island, Koh Samui to see the future ahead for
land and property prices on the island.
However, unlike Koh Samui, Koh Phangan is covered by 70%
national park. Allowing the island to retain the
tranquil atmosphere it’s been know for and prices to
remain strong as, quality land becomes scarcer.
